An ptfe hose and an fittings installation instructions, that professional ptfe hose manufacturer to explain for you.
CUTTING HOSE
Step 1 - Measure your PTFE hose to ensure the proper length, make sure you have enough hose to reach all components, and follow the proper bend radius (you want to make sure you don’t knot the hose and prevent flow)
Step 2 - Mark your cut and protect nylon/steel braid. Use tape to wrap the hose around the area you will cut to prevent the braids from fraying
Step 3 - Cut your new PTFE hose. This step is important to ensure that you have a leak-free installation fitting. Whichever method you choose, make sure that the cut is as straight as possible and you have removed all burrs from the PTFE liner
Wrap the hose with tape at the approximate cutting position and mark the exact cut with a marker. Put the hose in the shearing machine, keep the hose cutting straight, and compress the shearing machine
Method 2 - Use a sharp chisel and anvil. This method produces a clean cut for your accessories, but compresses the PTFE liner. This is usually good, but you must work hard to complete the cut in one hit. Your chisel must be sharp, otherwise it will quickly become dull when cutting the steel braid
Place the hose on the anvil and cut the hose with a sharp chisel with a heavy hammer
Before installing the accessories, use a marker, pen, or other tool to round the gasket
Ready to install accessories
Method 3 - Utilize the cutting wheel on an air or electric mold grinder. Using a thin cut-off wheel, you will clamp the hose in a vise, apply light or even pressure, and let the cut-off disc cut the hose. This method is easy to cut the braid, but the PTFE liner may be slightly twisted due to heating. After using this method, be sure to check the cut to ensure that the liner is not excessively twisted, resulting in poor joint sealing
Check the hose to make sure that the fittings are well sealed
Method 4 - Use a bow saw-This method produces clean cuts on the PTFE liner, but is more likely to wear steel and nylon braids. If you use a hack saw, be sure to have a higher TPI (tooths per inch) blade, apply uniform pressure, and try your best to keep the blade straight, because a curved cut will cause poor sealing of the hose joint
INSTALLING PTFE HOSE END FITTINGS
Step 1 - You will have 3 components, each accessory you will need to install on the hose. Your accessories, your sheath, and your nuts. Insert the nut into the hose first. The tape will help prevent the nut from jamming the stainless steel and/or nylon braid
Step 2 - Use a small screwdriver or pickaxe to gently expand the stainless steel braid. In this way, there is enough space to install the ferrule
Step 3 - If installing a black or colored hose, it is recommended to trim the outer black or colored braid. This will prevent nylon from clumping under the nut. Only a small amount of material needs to be removed. If you cut too many braid nuts will not cover the braid, it will be a bad installation
Step 4-Install the sheath on the PTFE hose liner. Make sure that there is no ferrule between the braided strands and the PTFE hose liner. This ferrule is compressed inside the pipe to form a seal and prevent leakage
Note: Although these fittings are reusable, the ferrule is not reusable. Once the fitting is tightened, the ferrule is compressed. If you reinstall the fitting, you must use a new ferrule
Step 5 - Prepare to install AN hose end pipe fittings (optional-lubricate the joints on the pipe fittings with light oil to aid installation). Insert the nipple into the ferrule and hose and press to the bottom. You may need a vice to help you
Step 6-Move the nut toward the accessory while being careful not to grab the braid. It helps to apply pressure to the braid while you work the nut on the fitting. Start to tighten the nuts manually
Step 7-Put the new pipe into the vise on the nut end and choose the appropriate size wrench for the pipe to be installed
Stop - These accessories are made of aluminum and are easily damaged and scratched when using steel tools. Be careful to use the correct size wrench to protect the pipe fittings in the vise. Wrap electrical tape around the connector to prevent markings
Step 8 - Tighten the pipe until there is a gap of approximately 1mm between the pipe and the nut. Align the nut and the assembly surface for professional appearance installation
Step 9 - Perform a pressure test on the pipeline to ensure that the fitting is properly installed on the PTFE lined and braided hose. The gauge is not necessary, but it helps to ensure that you don't press over the pipeline
Important-Once you have installed a new hose on your project, check the system thoroughly for leaks. If a leak is detected, do not operate the system. Since most braided hoses are operated on high-performance vehicles, they are in a harsher environment than ordinary vehicles during use, so they should be checked regularly to ensure that no leakage or damage occurs.
